How HQAA streamlines ancillary care accreditation.
At HQAA, "Become a quality champion" is not only a mantra, it's a must. Our goal is to
not only ensure HME providers meet our high-quality standards, but to help them truly
champion quality care for their patients.
Step 1: HQAA assigns accreditation coach.
The HQAA accreditation coach works with individual HME providers to guide them through
the policy and procedure manual documentation process standard-by-standard. Coaches provide
feedback on the standard criteria and are also available via phone, e-mail and instant
messenger to answer questions or provide additional resources. This reduces both the time
and stress associated with traditional accreditation programs.
Step 2: HME provider completes their online Workroom.
Each provider will assign a Workroom Manager to tackle each of the policy and procedure
documents. This is essentially the provider's "quality champion." The HQAA Workroom helps
the Workroom Manager manage the accreditation process with a "virtual block timeline," an
online tutorial, an easy website interface and the expert guidance of the coach.
Step 3: HQAA conducts unannounced survey.
All site visits are unannounced and not only verify the submitted documentation, but include
observation of patient care and processes.
